Harvey brought in the old reel to reel tape recorder and I couldn't help looking at the tape titles. There was no MILLER DAY at Galloway Chapel so I must have taken my smaller recorder for that. In the meantime there are some "OLDIES BUT GOODIES" One that is a classic is when THE GAITHERS came to FIRST CHURCH OF GOD in Danville. It was the origional GAITHERS that came Bill, Gloria and Bills brother and sister. I remember asking them if I could tape the concert and Bill smiled and said "Sure go ahead." I sat on the front row beside the reel to reel in case it squealed. It didn't. That was back in the days they didn't charge but merely passed the offering plate.I think it was about 1959 or so. We followed them to different churches and I remember at one place all the windows of the church was open and chairs were set up outside because all of the seats inside were packed. At another place there was no room for the MAYOR of that town to sit so they put him up with the Gaithers at the side of the platform . To me that was the best seat in town and I am sure the Mayor was used to sitting on platforms.

I also wouldn't mind having copies of those Gaither's tapes as well.
These are not what you would call tapes of today. You could not use them. It is hard for me to describe them. Your mom will know what we are describing.
I know but maybe Tuck can make them into a CD. Where are you moving too? Mom wanted to know.

I would suppose there are many folks who do not remember the reel to reel tapes, and maybe some who might not remember cassettes. Most of the younger folks today, have only known CDs.
