Today was the end of an era. Yet it is a new beginning.
Pastor Dave and Carol Garver of Ridgeview Baptist Church were given a
big send off today into their retirement years. They want to spend some time together, travel to see four daughters, four son-in-laws, and five grandchildren. One of the last things Pastor Dave was able to do today was the baby dedication of his daughter Sarah and her husband Bryan Krall's new baby boy who is just two weeks old.Alderman Terry Baldwin was there to make a proclamation of July 1st 2007 being Pastor Dave and Carol Garver Day in Danville, IL. It was a joy to meet Terry and his wife and have lunch with them after. She said her brother played ball at Legion Field with Tuck.It was a 2 hour service and the time went quickly and the reception after. The sanctuary was packed. Members who had moved away made a point of coming back to be a part of the recognition
for Dave and Carol. They will continue to worship with us at Ridgeview as they have purchased a different home in Danville.Tonight the service was entirely of recollections of Dave and Carols ministry in Danville.
So much was said in both of the services. I was not able to say anything to either of them today but would just say
" THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES"
