SUMMER MONDAYS

There is no decision to be made to WHAT DO YOU DO ON MONDAYS IN THE SUMMER at our house. It is also true at our kids houses. It is just understood that we all go to LINCOLN PARK in DANVILLE for the KENNEKUK KIDS RUN. Our son Robin and His wife Beth started this program over 15 years ago . They are members of KENNEKUK ROAD RUNNERS RUNNING CLUB. They thought it would be great to start youngsters out early in life so the program became reality. The first year they had 35 kids show up. Now there are over 600 registered this year.Tiny toddlers up to age 18 are invited to participate free of charge. Each runner gets a ribbon and a popsycle for finishing the race. If they come to five races they get a trophy at the end of the season. If they finish all of the races they get a larger trophy. They have an awards night at the end of the season and Mayor Scott comes and gives out the awards. There are several sponsers who help out with expenses and awards and pizza party on awards night. KUDOS TO THE KIDS and also to ROBIN AND BETH !!!
