JUNE 10th 1933

This is a day of remembrance for our family. It was 74 years ago in Paris Illinois that my parents Clyde Rohrer and Buelah Marie Bailey were united in marriage. They would tell the story of how they took dads sister
Opal and her husband Earl Jenkins along to be their witnesses. Opal was
pregnant with Vera Marie who was born seven months later. They said they had to stop the car several times on the way to Paris because Opal would be sick. Earl and Opal gave them a wedding gift of a cookie jar that has lasted to this day . That is another story I will tell you later. The Pastor gave them a picture of Jesus praying . That picture also has lasted through the years and has been on a living room wall in every home that mother and dad lived in. With eight kids that is a miracle in itself. Today the picture hangs on a wall in her room at Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home in Chrisman Ill. Dad was promoted to Heaven in 1981 but we still
observe their wedding date. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DAD AND MOM!
