NAMES

I think a person should have the right to select their own name after they are a certain age. For instance I was born right in the middle of a time everyone was naming their little girls SHIRLEY.It was because SHIRLEY TEMPLE was a child star in the 40's. and 50's.She was known for singing the song THE GOOD SHIP LOLLIPOP. In fact I understand there are some males named SHIRLEY. There were 3 Shirleys in my first grade class and when I entered high school I think there were four. I know one woman is named after her mothers doctor. She got his last name. Anyone who lived in Danville in the 60's might be familiar with this doctor. I have thought about it and I think if I could choose my name I would steal from my daughter CHANNA which is pronounced SHAWNA. P.S I would keep her middle name though which she doesn't care for.
