This hot weather reminds me of my childhood. We didn't have air conditioning. We had a couple of window fans. My parents would put them in windows with the breeze going out instead of in. I wasn't sure that was the correct way to do things. However we all found out pretty quick it was the perfect way to do. There were seven of us kids and my parents. So my Mom and Dad told us all to go into our bedrooms and open just one window closest to our beds. The breeze went across our bed and we were comfortable. My brothers would open the front door and camp out on the floor. The next day I remember my oldest brother tried to fry and egg on the sidewalk. Well,....it did cook a little. The water hose would be in action during the day also. Summer days also meant Kool-Ade, Popsicles and watermelon and once in awhile a trip to the MOUTH OF THE JORDAN RIVER...THOSE WERE THE DAYS
