MESSAGES PASTORS SHOULD GIVE

Ministers hate to give a message on tithing because people don't want to hear it!  It is a biblical fact that 10% of an income BELONGS to God. I have heard people say "we can't afford to give 10%"Let me be honest with you. We can't afford not  to. When we were first married we decided we would tithe our income. The Bible says and then some and we do that also.If there is a need or a special project we try to participate. We couldn't begin to tell you how many food baskets we helped with or electric bills were paid. We let God keep track. What has the result been? God has seen we have all we need and then some of our wants also. What you do is your business but if you come up short and always seem to be needing then perhaps you should follow the scriptures.

That's exactly why I don't attend church. I feel I give more than my 10% to the Lord in the work I do for the poor.
This way I am not caught in the middle between God and the church. Yes there may be scriptures validating what you are claiming. I have no argument for that. I choose not to attend church because my relationship with God is one on one. I like it that way and it seems to work for me.
